12 of the Weirdest and Most Mysterious Space Revelations Ever

11. Hyperion with High Electricity

Found Year: 1848 William Cranch Bond, George Phillips Bond, and William Lassel are the ones who found it. Location: Saturn's orbit Hyperion is one of the solar system's oddest-looking moons. This uneven rock, which has a pumice-stone-like appearance, is covered in countless craters. Additionally, a particle beam made of static electricity charges it. This indicates that Hyperion emits energy into space, as demonstrated by NASA's Cassini mission, which visited Saturn from 2004 to 2017.

The moon puzzled the scientists who discovered it in the middle of the nineteenth century, as it was the first non-circular moon ever found.

12. Thermal Radiation

Found Year: 2018. The University of Pennsylvania found it. Where: 800 Light Years Apart Dense objects known as neutron stars are created when a normal star dies. Neutron stars typically release radiation in the form of high-energy X-rays and radio waves. However, researchers from Penn State University found a neutron star that was acting strangely in September of 2018.

Pinterest/DailyMail Infrared Stream Eight hundred light years from Earth, these astronomers discovered a long stream of infrared light coming from a neutron star. This has never been noticed before. The infrared signal was thought to have been produced by a disc of material encircling the star, but this theory has not yet been verified.
