9. Quasar Clusters

Found Year: 2015. The Max Planck Institute for Astronomy made the discovery. Place: The Nebula Jackpot A massive black hole can transform into a quasi-stellar radio source, or quasar, when it consumes matter from a nearby source, such as a galaxy or even a single star. Quasars are comparatively rare and solitary objects that radiate a distinctive light throughout the universe.

Because of how uncommon this was, many scientists didn't even think it was conceivable. Given that quasars are typically widely spaced objects, the sight of this active, supermassive black hole cluster was very astounding.

10. KIC 846285

Found Year: 2015. Planet Hunters Project found it. At a distance of 1,470 light years KIC 8462852, sometimes referred to as the "WTF Star," is situated 1,470 light years from Earth. In 2015, the Planet Hunters Project made the discovery. Project-affiliated citizen scientists observed anomalous variations in KIC's light, such as a 22% decrease in brightness.

Theories include a very eccentric orbit and an uneven dust circle, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. Though it is the only F-type main sequence star to fluctuate in such a manner, this star is by no means the only one to experience irregular dimmings.
